V1500
Series
SOHO Router
The
V1500 series of routers delivers real networking power to smaller
organizations and branch offices. Each V1500 series router provides
robust, feature-rich performance in a very compact form factor. Load
Sharing and Line Manager features deliver seamless fail-over capabilities
to deliver the optimal uptime and continual operation necessary to keep
mission-critical communications flowing. Allowing central offices to
provide connection to multiple sites, V1500 series routers are extremely
cost-effective and feature simple setup and management.
The
V1500 series router is ideal for small offices, service firms, SOHO
LANs, home businesses, small branch offices (SBOs), collocation spaces,
local government field offices, school campuses, and similar organizations.
The V1500 Series includes the V1501 and the V1502T model routers. The
V1501 model has one 10Mb Ethernet port, one console port, and one T1/E1
WAN port. The 1502T router has one 10/100Mb Fast Ethernet port, one
console port, and 2 T1/E1 WAN ports.
Benefits
Simple
Configuration and Management
Setup
Menu provides easy, step-by-step instructions for custom router configuration.
Supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Command Line
Interface (CLI) via console or Telnet. Both FTP and TFTP are supported
for software downloads. Ideal for offices without dedicated IT staff.
IP
Routing Protocol and WAN Protocol Support
Supports
the following IP protocols: Open Shortest Path First V2 (OSPF), Border
Gateway Protocol V4 (BGP), and Routing Information Protocol V1/V2
(RIP). Supports Hyper Data Link Control (HDLC), Point-to-Point Protocol
(PPP), and Frame Relay for data transmission over serial links.
Load
Sharing
Dynamically
and efficiently selects the optimal access interface from the available
distributed interfaces, reducing transmission delays.
Line
Manager
Line
Manager provides line failover capabilities to available port resources
NAT
Support for IP Address Conservation and Security
Extends
the use of limited addresses. Enables the LAN to maximize internal
IP address resources by issuing separate IP address sets for internal
and external traffic.
Easy
IP Management via DHCP Server/Relay
Simplifies
system administration by automating IP address management. Enables
the router to dynamically negotiate its own IP address and allocate
local IP addresses to clients via DHCP server. It also supports DHCP
relay.
Enhanced
Internet Security
Packet
Filtering and User Authentication (PAP/CHAP) keep the network secure
from intrusion. This can be used to block internal users from browsing
selected external sites. Supports site-to-site IP tunneling via
Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) and IP-over-IP tunneling (IPIP).
