Bits-Mux E1 Multiplexer Nx64k
- Reliable and cost-efficient Nx64
kbps access
- Multiplexer with 2 Mbps G.703/E1
output port
- Up to 4 Nx64 kbps input ports
(X.21, V.36/V.35)
- Optional FE1 drop and insert port

The Bits-Mux is a scalable
access multiplexer concentrating different Nx64 kbps channels onto
a G.703/E1 interface. The Bits-Mux is available in different
configurations, offering the closest possible match to different
user needs. These configurations range from a simple interface/rate
adapter to a four input-port multiplexer with add and drop FE1 interface.
The Bits-Mux comes in a dual-slot
housing which accomodates a main module and an optional extension
module. The main module offers a G.703/E1 interface and a Nx64kbps
(X.21 or V.36/V.35) port. Optionally it can also contain a drop
and insert G.703/FE1 interface. The extension module allows to increase
the number of input ports with three supplementary Nx64 kbps interfaces
(X.21 or V.36/V.35).
Typical applications are found when
different users can share the same 2 Mbps line, reducing to a large
extent the communication costs. It could include the combination
of LAN traffic, PABX traffic, videophony, etc. These 2 Mbps trunk
lines are commonly found in environments with HDSL technology (e.g.
Telindus Crocus HDSL), cross-connect systems, SDH, or wireless local
loop.
The user interacts with the Bits-Mux
using a VT100 user-interface, which allows for configuration and
maintenance. Both the local and remote equipment can be configured
using this interface. Built-in maintenance features of the Bits-Mux
include CRC support, continuous quality analysis, tracing of alarm
conditions, loop settings, etc.

Crocus SDSL Quad

The Crocus SDSL quad combines high-speed
xDSL connectivity with access concentration on a channelised E1
interface. It is ideally suited to environments where a concentration
of remote users is required whilst minimising the number of interfaces
towards the backbone equipment. The reduced number of interfaces
on the backbone device drastically limits the cost and the dimensions
of this backbone equipment.
